Our Country needs to get better

Filed under: Commentary — Chicago Taxi Guy @ 1:55 am

I was just reading a story about how Failure is rewarded here in America. The problems with the legal system is far too many to list here. The failure is Capitalism. Yes Capitalism is a system where one man makes all the money and the workers make nothing. Do you know this system has been around for thousands of years it’s called the feudal system. Here let me explain… CEO = King, Executive = Dukes, Managers = Knights, Employees = Peasants. Know take a moment to digest this for a moment…. See I told it’d the same thing with a different name. As much as a society tries to be different and advance it’s keeps going backwards. As long as money can control governments man will never advance to a better system. Well this brought this up because an Executive named Peter Kraus worked for Merrill Lynch for three months and received 25 million dollars. Now how is this possible you say? Well see when Merrill Lynch took a our tax money they thought hey lets give money to ourselves and screw the Employees. This guy apparently just bought a apartment for 37 million. As long as criminal activity like this is allowed America will always be backwards. Our infrastructure is failing daily, New Orleans is straight out of a Mad Max movie, and rich assholes on the radio and on TV tell you what to think (Rush and O’reilly.) And CEO and Executives are enjoying the good life. Remember to think for yourselves and demand change.

Airlines and their bullshit

Filed under: Commentary — Chicago Taxi Guy @ 10:59 pm

Ok every day I hear about Americas airlines sucking more and more. Saying they can’t meet their profits and treatment of their customers like shit. For instances they change your flight times, over book flights, and ruin your plans when ever they can. I will tell you an experience here in America you will never get. My brother flew in to Athens, Greece and had a pleasant flight with an airline company thats based in Europe. After his vacation on the way back. The airline wanted my brother and his friends to give up their seats. They offered $1000 euro credit per seat for the inconvenience and since the next flight out to their destination was in three days they would get a free limo, and three free nights at a five star hotel and $300 euro in cash for shopping and free dinner vouchers at a steak house. Now here in America you get your ticket taken away without them telling you anything but that they overbooked and they TRY to get you on the next flight. And when they messed you suffer. When I was in Italy my flight was delayed 12 hours I got free night stay at a nice hotel and free food at the local steakhouse and Italian restaurant. This brings me to my next blog topic coming this week. It’s called the quality of life in America Sucks.

City of Chicago Inspection

Filed under: Commentary — Chicago Taxi Guy @ 10:59 pm

Most people don’t know this but in Chicago all city cabs go through this horrible experience every 3 months called inspection. It is one of the worst experiences as a cab driver you will ever have. First you line up outside the facility where you are greeted by an asshole inspector that has a roach up his ass. Who treats you really bad. Then they make you wait for about 2 hours because they don’t know what they are doing. It takes them hours to do anything and if it’s lunch time forget about going to work in the next 4 hours. They use this new Brake testing machine which fails about 85% of all cabs a machine that was made to test ambulances and light trucks. It’s very unfair because it’s like testing your cab to see if it’s sea worthy. Then they blame the mechanic shops if you fail. The fail rate is extremely unfair and biased for the city to make more money. If you fail it’s around a $300. Yep 300 not including a retest fee which is another bullshit fee. Then when you get a ticket you get treated to another 3 hour wait while mister head of all the monkeys lectures you why your sooo stupid and that you should get another job. Ohhh and this guy thinks his a mechanic on top of it. Ohhh and to retest you have to wait a week and not be able to work during that time. Soo lets recap on the unfairness of it all. $300 for ticket plus $50 for retest bullshit fee. And not including the week of work you just lost. Wow that pretty much does it. It shows you how stupid inspection is run and the unfairness. while they inspect your car and it happens to brakes down you get a ticket and a big F.U. from the inspectors. I don’t understand why it takes them so long to inspect a car. If I take my car to any professional shop it takes about 15 minutes. The city encourages low standards for them to work at the slowest speed possible while demanding a brand new car from every cab. And with every rule change that happens the city hurts the cab drivers more and more but it’s o.k. it’s part of Mayor Daley’s piss the the cabbie plan.

Olympic Drama

Filed under: Commentary — Chicago Taxi Guy @ 1:31 am

The real reasons why Chicago should not have the olympics.
Well…. just think a little bit about the infrastructure of Chicago. Traffic, traffic, ohhh and more traffic.
Well theres tons of traffic coming in from near by states like Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. thats just to name a few. We don’t have the infrastructure to handle two months of insane traffic. Think of it like 2 hours to O’Hare from downtown on a non-rush hour time of day with clear skies and no cloud in sight. The suburbanites showing up in their SUV’s, travelers trying to pass through, Semi-Trucks doing deliveries. Then Mayor Daley wants to add more cabs on the street even though Chicago is over flooded with cabs already. Chicago has nearly 7500 cabs half on any given day. All work during the conventions. So he adds a ton of new cabs fine during the olympics or not. Then when the olympics are gone now whats left for us?? nothing thats what. What a selfish person Mayor Daley is.
The mayor would benefit greatly he would sell everything and privatize this opportunity to his friends. I know he would also benefit by making more money off of cabs. I mean we cab drivers are illegally fined for every little “thing” consumer services doesn’t like. Other real cities have a cap on how many medallions are allowed in the city. Just recently New York just released two medallions and last time they released any was in 1929. There are reasons why they do that and one is to make sure the cab drivers are making a decent living. The airport express would make a lot of money also. I heard that one of his family members owns them. I don’t know for sure if anyone has any info on that I would greatly appreciate know the truth on that subject. The Olympics well bring with it bigger problems also. After the Olympics leave the cities they were in these pose an environmental impact. And having it on the south side is a bad idea. Navigating the south side is hard enough with all these one ways when your looking for a street going north but all you get is one way south for the next mile or so. Chicago doesn’t have the public transportation to handle the Olympics. The CTA buses break down more than a Chrysler and that says a lot. The trains are unreliable and never on time just like the buses. I know drivers for CTA and there good drivers and good people and it’s not their fault that they are mismanaged. And the police would give Stalin a run for his money. I mean talk about aggressive law enforcement. Especially with all the corruption about cops on the news all the time. I’m at least glad Internal Affairs got started here in Chicago. Well thats my opinion on why Chicago should not have the Olympics

America Land Of The Weak

Filed under: Commentary — Chicago Taxi Guy @ 12:30 am

I just read whats going on in Greece two officers of the law started trouble. One shot a fifteen year old kid and the kid died. The cops made up a story of what happened but the many witnesses told the truth about what happened. The one cop that shot the kid has gone to jail for murder and the other cop went to jail as an accomplice. Now the Greek people are rioting for three days now. To show the government that this is unacceptable.
When this kind of thing happens here, nobody does anything the people of the United States are weak. People get tasered and die. People get attacked by cops all the time and nothing happens maybe a suspension with pay and then back on the force.
In New York a cop hits a biker for no reason and gets away with it until a tape surfaces. The tape should not have been the reason that there should be an investigation the fact that people saw it happen and the word of the people should be enough. Since when does a cop not lie? Cops in America are like a Pit bull without a leash. There needs to be a better check and balance. Too many people are beating or shot or tasered. This needs to stop here and now. This camaraderie thing needs to stop now. When your partner does something bad arrest him it’s the law he’s breaking the one thing you swore to protect remember? and no one is above the law. This should be on the American news networks but it’s not which comes to show they are controlled.

My thoughts go out to the Teenagers parents.
Zeto Elleftiria

P.S. I’m not saying to go out and riot but we need to organize and take back our rights. We need to protest and stop the violence. Find out who your local mayor or chief of police is. Found out when to vote let them know this is unacceptable behavior that people should not stand for it. If you do see a person attacked for no reason get involved immediately call 911 and ask to speak to a sergeant or commanding officer. Record the violation of the law and go directly to your local Internal Affairs department. Protesting should include getting together and demanding some to be done about the problem. All I know is cops are getting away with murder in this country.
