About
I find myself asking why?
Why write a blog about cab drivers?
And I’ve thought about my eight years experience and what I’ve been through.
People don’t know that here in Chicago, Cab drivers are second rate citizens.
We are stereotyped as immigrants and stupid.
Guess what?
Thats not true.
We work hard and when I mean hard I mean 12 hour plus a day.
We bust our ass and get treated real bad by the city, Police, and Consumer services.
We put our life on the line every day. How would you like to pick up someone in your car and take them any where they want to go without knowing anything about them.
Are they crazy?
Do they have drugs on them?
Will they attack you?
Are they armed?
These are things that will come across your mind on some of these customers. Police officers at least have guns and the law to back them up. Not many people can do what cab drivers do. And so I’m the voice of these cabbies. I don’t represent them but these are blogs about what it means to be a cab driver in the city of Chicago.
Blogs about some crazy rides.
Blogs about the city experience and dealing with consumer services.
So to start off this Blog I will start with the following topics these coming weeks.
1. Why Chicago should not host the Olympics
2. Why Mayor Daley is not a good Mayor
3. City services that suck
4. Inspection facilities and what cabbies go through to service you
5. How Chicago can improve our relationship with us
6. What clubs to go to and why.
7. Hidden Chicago
This blog is about me a cab driver in the city of Chicago. I’ll tell you my adventures my rants and raves. I will only tell you about a place that I have been in weither its good or bad. I will not pull punches you deserve to know where you can go and have a good time or not.
Under the Chicago rules for cab driver were not allowed to say if a place is good or bad, when we are driving customers. Well I really don’t care what the city says about my off time. I will be practicing my First Amendment rights if you don’t like what you read please move on.
